Bibemus quarries

Aix-en-Provence is the city of Cezanne. He was born there and died there as well. Despite the city not having a lot of painting of Cezanne due to some things that happened during his life (basically, the city didn't recognize him as an artist), it has some location related to Cezanne. One of them are the Bibemus quarries.

As they are quarries, rock used to be extracted from them. It is a rock that is of a beautiful orangey ochre color.

Cezanne had a little shed there as the quarries were one of the location that inspired him the most for his paintings.

If you ever go to Aix-en-Provence, I strongly advice you to visit them. It is a very, very beautiful place, especially in the summer. You'll need walking shoes!

Though they can be visited only upon reservation at Aix-en-Provence tourist office or on their website (and the visits are only on certain days at certain hours)
